OK, you missed your chanceat the mansion in Longboat Key Club’s Regents Court that just sold for an island-record $12.5 million. But don’t fret. There are many other extremely high-end homes still on the local market.
Can you afford to pay cash? It’s hard to get a mortgage on a $150,000 house, and impossible on a $15,000,000 one. But if you are a Russian drowning in petrodollars or a Brit who had a really good seat at the Royal Wedding, we have the perfect getaway for you — and your extended family.Furthermore, sellers are adjusting their prices after that big sale.
“With very few comps, you were wondering if the price is real. Now we have a comp,” said Klaus Lang of Michael Saunders & Company, referring to comparable sales.
$12,000,000. 3561 Shore Lane, 6 bedrooms, 8 baths, 11,019 square feet. Sotheby’s International Realty. Boca Grande, where billionaires chase off millionaires, has been the exclusive playground of the Bushes and du Ponts over the years. If you have to scrounge around under the seat for the $5 bridge toll, look elsewhere.
$13,500,000. 600 N. Jackson Road, 8 bedrooms, 15 baths, 23,365 square feet, 100 acres. Signature Sotheby’s International Realty. Listed at $20 million during the boom, this ranch has been on the market for years. Somehow, that is not surprising. Finding a buyer who wants 23,000 feet of vacuumable space and 100 acres (for someone else) to mow is “like finding a needle in a haystack,” said one agent who does not expect to be involved in the eventual sale.
$2,695,000. 949 Inlet Circle, 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, 4,443 square feet. Listed by C. Holmes Real Estate, this house is on Roberts Bay near the Venice Jetties, providing convenient boat access to the Gulf.
$2.7 million. 1781 Jamaica Way, 8 bedrooms, 8 baths, 5,672 square feet, Century 21 Aztec & Associates. This house doesn’t have the architectural flair of others on the list, but it has plenty of space in which to lose house guests.
$1,950,000. 2750 Ryan Blvd., Punta Gorda Isles, 5 bedrooms, 5.5 baths, 9,953 square feet, Signature Sotheby’s International Realty. You are getting a lot for the money — almost 10,000 square feet for only $195 a square foot.
$3,195,000. 5000 Marina Drive, 5 bedrooms, 7 baths, 8,004 square feet. Signature Sotheby’s International Realty. Check out the photo; it’s lovely.
$6,500,000. 749 N. Manasota Key Road, 4 bedrooms, 6 baths, 4,574 square feet. RE/MAX Alliance Group. This is one of the less-traveled barrier islands (it is connected to the mainland). But it has high ground and lots of tree cover. Worth a drive-by, even if you don’t have the checkbook.
$5,850,000. 6380 Manasota Key Road, 5 bedrooms, 6 baths, 6,638 square feet. RE/MAX Alliance Group.
$6,900,000. 100 Osprey Point Drive, The Oaks. 6 bedrooms, 7 baths, 10,411 square feet. Signature Sotheby’s International Realty.

$19,000,000. 401, 410 and 411 N. Casey Key Road, 11 bedrooms, 14 baths, 11,130 square feet, 2.73 acres. Michael Saunders & Company. Agent Terri Healey, who has the listing with Nancy Moore, says this could be a family compound. It has three houses — a main house (411), a guest house (401), both on the Gulf, and a staff quarters (410), on the bay. There’s 300 feet of Gulf-front with tennis court, and 300 feet of bayfront.

$10,400,000. 1232 N. Casey Key Road, 4 bedrooms, 6 baths, 8,121 square feet. Michael Saunders & Company. MS&C seems to have cornered the Casey market with longtime CK agents and residents Albert and Annette Ayers.
$14,500,000. 8250 Sanderling Road, Siesta Key, 5 bedrooms, 6 baths, 7,652 square feet, 1.54 acres, Michael Saunders & Company. Architect Guy Peterson gave each section of the modernist house a different color, depending on its use.
$10,985,000. No address given, 6 bedrooms, 8 baths, 8,623 square feet, 1.58 acres, Michael Saunders & Company. This is just too nice, apparently, to let just anyone drive by.

$8,850,000. 6280 Riverview Blvd., 5 bedrooms, 8 baths, 10,310 square feet, 1.18 acres, Signature Sotheby’s International Realty. On one of the best streets in the region. Says listing agent Pam Taylor, “It’s the whole package. It is a big, beautiful, beautifully done piece of art. The property itself is very secure; the back has a long dock with a boat house and its own little beach. From the upstairs, you see the Sunshine Skyway. It has a wow factor.”
$5,999,000. 19208 Ganton Ave., The Concession, 5 bedrooms, 7 baths, 11,318 square feet, Michael Saunders & Company. Agent Stacy Haas: “The finishes are amazing. Marble, granite and onyx counters; the nicest kitchen I’ve ever seen. It has every upgrade imaginable.”
